Since we have started researshing and discussing on how to use the different kinds of tools regarding online journalism, I definitely can say that those tools were useful enough for us to use it in our other subjects.
Whenever, we have to find a meaning of a certain word or even a background history of a certain topic or some scholarly researches, I would go to google tools that you taught us to use and those were very useful, especially in our mass media subject where we usually find something that has a deeper meaning.
Aside from the tools that we have learned, I have also learned to do blogs on my own site. I’ve learned to generate blog as often as I can and of course to put links in it, since I really didn’t know how to do it. I have even applied it on my own multiply blog and our blogs gave me ideas in how to do at least good blogs.
By this, I found out how old media had evolved from our old traditional media, and it was indeed more accessible and less time consuming and less cheap than the old media.

Food Blogging
In our previous generation people tend to use pen and paper to write their thoughts whenever they experience something new. Writing things down is their own way of keeping their memories about their past experiences. Some write about their love experiences while some write about how they have been satisfied of what they have just had, to be specific, any new food that they've got to taste. As we all know having a diary is not new to everyone, for it is where we write about how good we felt on what we had on a specific day no matter how small or big the writing material is as long as we can write down on it, it's fine.
For me, I do admit that I always make sure that whenever I feel good, i write it down on my diary. The reason why I do it is because someday I want to have an archive of my past experiences. The other reason is that, if I write it down at least in the future if i'll be needing to find for a good place to go I can just read my writings to trace back where the place was. So that is the essence of having your own diary.
However, as time passes by, new media is giving us more ways of putting our experiences in a more fun and delighful way of writing. Here we can also share our food trips with other people so that they can also try on going to that certain place and share the delightful treat that we have also had. This new way of technology is what we call blogging. Blogging is a more easier and a more funnier way of wtriting down experience that we had, it may be good or bad, it depends on what you want to write about. But if you would ask me, blogging is cool way of sharing to your friends all your great experiences, especially nowadays that there are already lots of food crtics who have been doing food reviews on every new dish in town. They write about a certain food and let other people read it so that if the food is great, advertising comes in.
You see food blogging is also connected to advertising, for criticizing a dish also make way of endorsing it if it is good or not, but more often pulishing a food review is all about good foods, because if not people won't waste their time anymore on reading how bad a dish is. In my own opinion, I do think that food blogging is cool, because in food blogging I can be updated if there is new dish that I can try. Also in food blogging I can have new ideas on how I can improve my cooking skills so that I can create something new for my taste. I can say that food blogging is really effective as a guide for those who are food lovers like me, because it also serves as a recipe guide for us food lovers.
Yet, food blogging is not all bout good foods, because sometimes it serves a warning for us, for example if a certain food place should not be patronize because a person is saying that they are serving foods that is dangerous to our health, then we won't try going to that place for safety. So with this, it does not only give us food trip ideas but also give us an idea if we shoudl really eat that certain kind of food or not. That is why I think having this kind of new media is really helpful to eveyone.

Personal Insight- Decriminalizing Libel
Libel is defined as a public and malicious imputation of a crime, or a vice or defect, real imaginary or any act, omission, condition status or circumstances tending to cause the dsihonor, discredit or contempt of a natural or judicial person or to blacken the memory of one who is dead.
Every citizien enjoys a private reputation that is being covered by the constitutional state. However, if the right is hindered by malicious judgement of somebody who only tries or attempts to destroy that person's reputation, then he can be liable for libel.
Yet, libel is not just a simple case that can be just file to anyone whenever he/ she gets insulted by somebody, becasue libel can only be valid if their is a reasonable ground for applying for it.
Libel is the most common case that journalists and media persons get whenever they get to offend somebody especially those people who are public officials and those who are in high position whom sometimes abuse their powers to file libel cases against media people just because they belive that they are private individuals, which was a contrary to who they are.
For the past years, Mr. Arroyo, the First Gentleman had the most numbers of libel cases filed to journalists. He filed different libel cases to 43 reporters, columnist, editors, publishers and even a subscription manager, of various publications.
He file the cases of libel against one of them for the reason that a magazine named Newsbreak, published Mr. Arroyo's undeclared property in San Francisco last Decemeber 2003. Marites Vitug, editor-in-chief of Newsbreak said that they have only published what they have found out and that they did not added more than what they knew, so they were really disappointed hen they knew about the case and because theyfelt that they can no lonnger seek protection from the law.
This was aslo the reason why many journalists are against how libel cases are being overruled. Lots of journalists, even those who are not media practitioners are already complaining on how this libel is being used to decline the right of the people to express their thoughts for they might just be sued by just only a single word that they will express.
Even I do strongly agree that the First Gentleman and even other public officials are obviously abusing their powers on the power of libel against people who are not in fvor with them. These people think that when they have the power they can do anything they want event though they are already stepping on somebody else's ego.
In the case of Mr. Arroyo, definitely he is one of those people who are abusing the statute just to hide his mistakes to the public. He is assuming that he should be treated as a private individual, but many thinks that he is not aware that he is the husband of the president, that he is a public fugure and at the same time a public officer and that he is accountable for criticism if he does something that people sees as his wrongful acts. Yet, he still ignoes that fact which only make people think that whenever his wifeis in the position he should be condisdered as invincible.
It is the reason why I also do agree that libel should really be decriminalize. I'm not saying that libel shoudld be totally decriminalize, for if that will be the case there would be lots of people who will abuse the situation and will write improper writeups of some other people, I'm just saying that libel should be decriminalize in a proper way. People who are inclined in doing improper things should watch their acts carefully so that they won't be noticed by the pubic. Moreover, public figures should also be sports whenever someone will criticize them because they are part of public matters.
Decriminalizing libel is just proper for only those abusive when it comes to their power. Courts should analyze carfully if the case is libelous enough for libel is slowly turning out to be a way of supressing the right of the media people in delivering the right information to the public and not just them but also those people who are just being abused by libel.

Lanao officials signs Peace covenant- second week
Lanao officials sign peace covenant
Last August 30, 2008 in the Peace Summit that was organized by the government in the province, Iligan Mayor Lawrence Cruz have found a new meaning of MILF, he now calls it Marawi Iligan and Lanao Friendship instead of Moro Islamic Liberation Front.
He said that the summit was composed of children and Allah, where they also sang “Heal the World’. Mayor Cruz has also assured the residence that they are protected that is why they didn’t advise them to arm themselves.
On the other hand, Cagayan de Oro Mayor Vicente Emano said that they are reviving Ilaga, for it will only cause them bigger problems and that the war probably wouldn’t stop. Likewise, Rep. Dimaporo of the 2nd district of Lanao del Norte added that if the MILF did not make that immature step of starting the war which cause so much deaths and property destruction, then maybe the government would have not withdrawn the signing of the Memorandum of Agreement.
These leaders are still looking forward of making a peace talk among the MILF leaders even though they are now in favor of capturing their leaders for the devastation that they have cause to the public.

Update1 for Iligan City-Current Situation
The
Though the MILF said that they will cease-fire if the government will return to them their member who were captured by the AFP, but the government said that it is not possible because in terms of the MOA-Ad the case should be handled lawfully, that is why those who are responsible for the attacks should face the consequences of being put behind bars and suffers the appropriate penalties for their acts.
The President said that the government are not setting aside the peace talk but everything should be put in order first before signing the agreement, but if the MILF leaders will still be tough in doing so, then they the government no choice but to enforce law and force them to surrender instead.
